“Coaching face to face is ‘the art of facilitating another person’s learning, development, well-being and performance. It raises self awareness and identifies choices. Through using a coaching approach, people are able to find their own solutions, develop their own skills and change their own attitudes and behaviours. The aim of mentoring-coaching is to close the gap between people’s potential and their current state..”
This definition was taken from
Guildhall School of Music and Drama’s ‘Ignite’ coaching and mentoring skills course which I completed in 2024 to widen my definition of ‘teaching’ – to be able to help more people perform at the highest level. I have a focus on neurodiversity and high achievement. I also advocate using techniques from professional music to introduce more flowstate periods of creativity and harmony to build high performance results.
Incorporating creativity and harmony into your everyday life brings a multitude of benefits, both personally and professionally.
Creativity: allows you to approach challenges with fresh perspectives, encouraging innovation and problem-solving. It enhances adaptability, making it easier to navigate the complexities of modern life.
Harmony: fosters balance and mental clarity, reducing stress and promoting emotional well-being. Together, creativity and harmony empower you to find flow in your daily tasks, build stronger relationships through empathy and active listening, and enjoy a more fulfilling and balanced life.
Performance: Having achieved at the highest levels professionally myself, I’m keen to help you with practice techniques and goals to reach your potential, and also to support and manage neurodiversities such as synesthesia and ADHD.
Because I’m neurodiverse myself however I can only take on limited numbers. Due to my travel timetable, regular weekly oboe lessons are not available. But do contact me for advice on playing the oboe, because I can help digitally and I can recommend many experienced oboe teachers in South Australia and elsewhere.
My online coaching will be available soon!
